Every child is inspired to discover their individual talents and forge meaningful connections with their peers, paving the way for a future filled with understanding and mutual respect. Northland School is an English-medium, co-educational, Christian, independent school. The school grounds and facilities are large and well-designed to provide a beautiful environment for children in which to be educated. Situated within the Monzi Estate between St Lucia and Mtubatuba, Northland School is on the doorstep of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park on the Zululand North Coast.

Vision

Our vision is to offer a rich, holistic education that will develop each child in body, mind and spirit, enabling children to optimise their talents and realise their potential using the Bible as their foundation.

Mission

The school aims to provide a Christ-centered education, equipping students with Godly character. We nurture independent and outwardly focused learners and employ supportive staff who align with the school’s Christian ethos.

Values

The Christian values we instil in children’s lives, bring their focus towards Faith, Family, Friendships and the Future. Courage, integrity, respect, accountability, generosity, compassion, kindness, and forgiveness name but a few of what Northland School values.

 SCHOOL MOTTO

‘More than Conquerers’

‘Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Our School

Facilities & Departments

Pre-school

The preschool program from Grades RRR to R offers a dynamic educational environment for young children, catering to their diverse needs and developmental stages. With a play-based curriculum that nurtures curiosity and imagination, foundations are layed for literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills. Our Grade R curriculum becomes more structured, introducing more formal academic concepts while maintaining hands-on learning. This approach equips students with confidence, knowledge, and adaptability for their primary school years with us. The preschool aims to nurture the whole child, preparing them for a lifetime of learning and personal growth.

Foundation Phase

Our foundation phase is a crucial stage in a child’s educational journey, focusing on building core competencies in literacy, numeracy, and life skills. Experienced teachers guide students, fostering a love for learning. The curriculum addresses cognitive, physical, and spiritual development, preparing students for intermediate and senior phases.

Intermediate & Senior Phases

These phases of education prepare children for high school by building a strong academic framework that fosters essential skills needed to take on more responsibility for their own education in developing self-discipline. By the end of Grade 7, students have a solid foundation of knowledge so that they walk into high school with confidence.

Sport & Extra-curricular

Northland school offers a variety of sport and extra-curricular activities that provide a rich and engaging environment for students, helping them develop physical, social, and cognitive skills beyond the regular classroom curriculum. Sports on offer include: Swimming, Cricket, Netball, Hockey, Soccer, Rugby, Athletics, Cross-country and Tennis.

Technology in the Classroom

Our school uses cutting-edge technology to enhance education, providing students with interactive smartboards, digital projectors, computers and coding and robotics tools. This integration empowers students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy skills, enabling them to explore new ideas and reach their full potential.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.
